Sustainability Curriculum
Blueprint for Government Schools: Flagship Strategy 1

The College Humanities and Science faculties are leading the co-ordinated development of integrated middle years sustainability education modules based on constructivist learning pedagogies.

Local Sustainability Precinctt

The Sustainable Schools Program is being rolled-out across the Inner City Schools for Innovation and Excellence Cluster to form a local sustainability precinct.

Science Facilities

Three Science Laboratories, a Prep Room and a Green House have been redesigned and refurbished to incorporate a Sustainability Research Centre.

Performance and Development Culture
Blueprint for Victorian Schools: Flagship Strategy 4

The College trialled the Hay Group Transforming Learning on-line professional learning system during 2005, utilising both student and staff peer feedback on pedagogical practices. 2005 P&DC Project Reports

The College is seeking Performance and Development Culture accreditation during 2006.

Student Outcomes

The following preliminary student outcome targets were established:

  1. Improved levels of Student Connectedness Years 7 – 9.
  2. Improved levels of Curriculum Relevance Years 7 - 10.

PHSC Leading Schools Initiative Team

The College is utilizing its LSF 1.0 EFT staffing allocation to release and backfill a program team that shares collective responsibility for the planning and implementation of its LSF Initiative. The program team holds a
range of positions, with varying responsibility time allowances attached.

The Leading Schools Initiative team is supported through staff fulfilling a range of positions and responsibility time allowances, including ICT Technician, ICT Network Manager, and Faculty Coordinators.
